2019 – DOMINGO XXXI DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO
Domingo de Zaqueo.
El Domingo de Zaqueo es muy conmovedor.
Jericó es la última etapa del camino de Jesús hacia Jerusalén.
Zaqueo, se sabe, era un publicano y Jesús se autoinvita a su casa, la casa de un pecador.
La escena es realmente inspiradora.
La iniciativa de Jesús conmueve el corazón del publicano y éste, de pie delante de Jesús sentado, en presencia de todos los que murmuraban contra Jesús por haber aceptado la invitación, hace declaración de su conversión, como si estuviese delante del juez, en este caso, un juez de misericordia.
Jesús declara, a su vez, gozosamente: “Hoy ha sido la salvación de esta casa“.
La conclusión de Jesús es clara: Zaqueo también, y a pesar de lo que haya hecho, es un hijo de Abrahán: “El Hijo del hombre ha venido a buscar y a salvar lo que estaba perdido“.
Es una conclusión querida de Lucas (15,6.9.24.32).
Cada cristiano es alguien encontrado por el Señor.
Hay una identificación de todos y de cada uno con Zaqueo.
Para salvar lo que estaba perdido el Señor subirá a Jerusalén y morirá en la cruz como redención para todos.
Jesús va a casa de Zaqueo porque allí hay alguien por salvar; somos nosotros los “perdidos”, y Él ha tenido a bien salvarnos.
La presencia de Cristo suscita el gozo y la conversión del corazón.
La casa de Zaqueo se convierte en Iglesia, lugar de la presencia y de la salvación.
“Hoy ha sido la salvación de esta casa“: estas palabras las canta gozosamente la liturgia bizantina cada domingo después de la doxología mayor, el Gloria; y el ritual de la Dedicación de las Iglesias de manera muy significativa propone desde hace siglos este Evangelio como el propio.
La Iglesia, también la asamblea eucarística, es la comunidad de pecadores convertidos a Jesucristo.
La Iglesia es Iglesia porque tiene la presencia del Señor, sino no es Iglesia ni es nada.
La ekklesía, visible en la asamblea eucarística, acoge, celebra y vive la presencia y de la salvación del Señor.
San Pablo exhorta a ser dignos de la vocación cristiana que hemos recibido: “De este modo, el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesús será glorificado en vosotros y vosotros en él“.
En la primera lectura el grandioso texto de la Sabiduría: “Tú amas todo lo que existe y no aborreces nada de lo que has hecho“.
No se olvide que este fragmento es el gran introito del Miércoles de Ceniza.
El Salmo responsorial canta la bondad del Señor, cariñoso con todas sus criaturas.
Teresa de Lisieux se refiere a este Evangelio en una carta a su hermana Celina: “Escuchemos lo que él nos dice: Bajad enseguida, porque hoy tengo que alojarme en vuestra casa. ¿Pero cómo…? Jesús nos dice que bajemos… ¿Adónde tenemos que bajar? Celina, tú lo sabes mejor que yo; sin embargo, déjame que te diga hasta dónde debemos ahora seguir a Jesús. Una vez, los judíos le preguntaron a nuestro divino Salvador: Maestro, ¿dónde vives?, y él les respondió: Las zorras tienen madrigueras y los pájaros del cielo nidos, yo no tengo donde reclinar la cabeza (Jn 1,38; Mt 8,20). He ahí hasta dónde tenemos que bajar nosotras para poder servir de morada a Jesús: hacernos tan pobres, que no tengamos dónde reposar la cabeza“.
